The name of the Association was changed from AA-EVP to Association
TransCommunication in recognition that the study of objective evidence
of survival necessarily includes the study of all forms of
transcommunication and not just that associated with instruments. Even then,
phenomena involving subtle or bio-energy (psi) and psi functioning was
still not included in the new scope. However, the expanded study is now
showing that virtually all forms of subtle energy influence involves the
etheric personality. To study this, one must consider all forms of
subtle energy phenomena.
This section is concerned with research into the nature of subtle energy
associated with the biofield, the influence of that energy via
intentionality and the relationship between the biofield and the greater
reality.
A Note About Parapsychology
While people who are academically trained as
parapsychologists, ATransC is not a parapsychological
organization. We follow the guidance provided in
Lawrence LeShan's book,
A New Science of The Paranormal. He makes a
distinction between psychical research (filed
study of spontaneous events) and parapsychology
(laboratory study of events under controlled environment
of the laboratory). This echoes our experience that the
parapsychological community conducts important human
potential research but that it has not been effective in
the study of actual human experiences.
In this section, the study of objective phenomena will
be primarily from the perspective our studies in
trans-etheric phenomena. That means a phenomena such as
biofields will be considered from the perspective of how
it relates to the etheric personality as opposed to
restricting the study to a subtle energy assumed to be a
product of biology.
