Sacred Spaces.  In an article titled On the "Conditioning" process for an ITC lab and other sacred spaces, written by William A Tiller and Walter E. Dibble, Jr., they state that, “When a group of well-intended individuals come into a room to meditate together, pray together, meaningfully commune from a ‘spiritual’ perspective together, etc., they collectively create an elevated and tangible ‘field of consciousness’ in the room that only slowly decays after the group leaves that room.  Unknowingly, they have collectively created a metastable condition in the ‘vacuum state’ of the room.  If such a meeting is a daily process continuing for years to decades with the same intention, then this processing may … become what we currently call ‘sacred spaces.’”  [From www.worlditc.org]  (ITC is Instrumental TransCommunication, which is technology augmented spirit communications—including Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP).)

Scole Basic Guide Booklet Available.  The Scole Experiments took place over a five-year period beginning in 1993 in the Norfolk village of Scole England.  Four psychic researchers embarked on a series of experiments investigating life after death.  Some of the phenomena that is documented during the sittings where: objects, lights and solid beings which materialized before previously skeptical observers; handwriting, symbols and messages which appeared on factory-sealed, unopened photographic film; spirits who communicated instructions for the building of complex instruments and communication devices and many other instances of physical phenomena.  Grant and Jane Solomon document the experiments in The Scole Experiment Scientific Evidence For Life After Death, Judy Piatkus Ltd, London, www.piatkus.co.uk.

Many groups seeking phenomena by following the “Scole Method” have been formed, mostly in the UK, and the Spiritual Science Foundation (the correct name for the Scole Group) does what it can to assist these groups.  We have received several inquires from people wanting to know how they might also set up a Scole style circle.  The Basic Guide Booklet (72 pages) for a group’s development of energy-based physical phenomena is available in English for £9.00 which includes postage and packing.  Checks or money orders must be in pounds sterling.  Send your request and funds to Spiritual Science Foundation, Street Farmhouse, Scole, Diss, Norfolk IP21 4DR

Experimental Effect.  Victor Zammit writes, “There are respected scientists and empiricists who have used their profound scientific knowledge to test aspects of psychic phenomena and who have obtained positive results.  For over 100 years some of the most brilliant men and women on this planet conceded that scientific evidence shows that the afterlife exists and communication with those who passed on takes place every day in every country in the world.  However, these investigators were genuinely open-minded.

“The ‘Experimenter Effect’ is when a negatively prejudicial experimenter inevitably influences the results he or she attains.  There seems to be an excellent case made out for the ‘experimenter effect’ in PSI research as shown in the Dr. Marilyn Schlitz and Dr Richard Wiseman studies.  Here, two experimenters worked on the same experiment with the same subjects.  One, Dr Marilyn Schlitz obtained positive results.  The other, Dr Wiseman, a materialist, known for his closed minded skepticism consistently obtained negative results.  See An Investigation of the ‘Experimenter Effect,’ Richard Wiseman, PhD, & Marilyn Schlitz, PhD, University of Hertfordshire & Institute of Noetic Sciences.”  [From Victor's Friday Report, 19 July 2002, First Edition, www.victorzammit.com.]

Metaphysical Presence Bugs Science.  A National Science Foundation report released recently found widespread and increasing belief in what it terms “pseudoscience.”  The National Science Foundation, an independent branch of the Federal Government, was set up in 1950 to promote science and educational endeavors.

The foundation's survey was based on interviews with 1,574 people across the country.  But it also cited several other polls with similar conclusions.  Among those was a Gallup survey last year that showed belief in ghosts, haunted houses, witches and the ability to communicate with the dead, all had increased by double-digit percentage points in the past decade alone.  Belief in ghosts and haunted houses now hovers around 40 percent, and communicating with the dead is nearing 30 percent.  Eight of 13 such phenomena included in the Gallup report showed significant increases; only one, belief in devil possession, declined.  Among the Science Foundation survey findings is that sixty-percent of the people surveyed believed that some people possess psychic powers or ESP.  [From Metaphysical presence bugs science, By Brett Johnson, www.staronline.com.]

Survival Science.  The Kevin Nunam Foundation states that its objectives are to support and publicize scientific research in a variety of areas related to paraphysics and parapsychology and to provide scientific evidence for mind/brain duality, survival of post-mortem consciousness, PSI, mental telepathy and ESP, remote viewing and their applications for medical, intelligence/military and industrial use, in that order.

The foundation states that it believes that such phenomena are natural, not supernatural, obvious and not occult and normal rather than paranormal.  It discourages the use of the word “belief” and seeks to replace it with the word “acceptance.”

The foundation says that it is planning and is already conducting experiments in validating psychic phenomena using techniques of the “hard” sciences such as infrared videography, electroencephalography, electreocardiography, electroculography, electromyography, pulse oximetry, peripheral arterial tonometry, computerized random picture, word and symbol generators and other neurodiagnostic and cardiopulmonary techniques and technologies.

Speaking in tongues.  A century ago, the story of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit came down on the apostles in a fury of wind and tongues of fire, as described in the Book of Acts, helped trigger a revival, one rooted in the belief that God makes speaking in tongues and other “spiritual gifts” from the early church available to modern-day believers.  Spiritualists might find it interesting that Pentecostal and Charismatic churches are the fastest-growing stream of Christianity in the world today.

A Higher Power.  We just had to tell you about an article we saw on a local news channel.  A couple found a kitten hanging around their backyard.  The kitten was in terrible shape and the couple wanted to catch it in order to take it to the veterinarian.  They put out food but the kitten would not come close. The next day they looked out in the backyard, and to their amazement, they watched a crow pick up food out of the food bowl and feed the kitten.  The crow continued to do this and nursed the kitten back to health.  The family also finally won the trust of the kitten who has now grown into a healthy cat.  The relationship between the cat and the crow continues and they are still very close friends.  The couple makes sure to let, Cassy, the cat out into the backyard everyday at 4 pm.  There waiting at that exact time is the crow.  The two then proceed to romp and play together like a couple of roughhousing kittens.
